There are no Resources this week do to FCAT Testing.
Wednesday is an Early Release Day. Lunch will be at 9:40.
Thursday is our Easter Activity Day!! Egg Hunt here we come! :)
There is no school on Friday. :)

*Make sure to turn in your easter eggs by Wednesday!!*
All week we will be sending treats to Mrs. Walker's Class and rooting them on to GREATNESS!!

Below is what we will be focusing on in class:

Reading: We will be reading the book Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse one more time. (I wasn't able to finish all the retelling tests last week.) Then we will read the book The Grumpy Easter Bunny by Justine Korman and discussing the rules for our Easter Egg Hunt. We will continue practicing phoneme deletion/ substitution. Our Word Family is the -op family, our blend is br-, our vowel focus is letter e (short sound & long sound) and our new Sight Words are were, what, other, about.
I wasn't able to find a video of the book The Grumpy Easter Bunny, so I found a video for the song 'Here Comes Peter Cottontail.' :). Here is a link to the br- blend powerpoint I made. :)

When choosing books to read at home this week, find books that you may have read before and practice having your child give a retelling of the book. Their retellings should be told using the characters names and most of the events should be told in the order they occurred.

Writing: We are continuing with Narratives and we will be writing about Easter Egg Hunts. :) We will be reviewing different types of punctuation and how we can add them to our stories. (The video showcases 5 different ones, we are only focused on the period, question mark and exclamation mark.)

At home, have your child write a narrative about anything they choose. When they feel they are done, go over the sounds used to write words, spaces, and whether or not their story answers the questioning words~ Who, What Where, When, Why and How.

Science/Social Studies: We are continuing the Unit on Living and Non-Living Things. We will be discussing the different needs of living things and the different ways they move. We will be completing two worksheets one on finding living things and the other on finding the non-living things.
At home, discuss different plant and animal pictures and reasons for saying why they are living or non-living.

Math: We are going back to the Topic of subtraction. The last time we worked on subtraction, the problems dealt with taking away. The students know what to do and were able to tell me... but when it came time to doing it~ they added. So we will be working together this week on following through with what we say.
Here is the Pirate Video for Subtraction. We will be watching it every day this week. :)

At home, work on subtraction when cleaning up toys or while eating dinner. :) Make it fun so that your child doesn't even know they are learning with you!
