More "stuff" is being worked on in the classroom. :) However, every time I walk into the closets (I have two large closets!!)... I bring out a few things and the room begins to look even more cluttered! haha   But I'm going to make my list of what I've finshed and what I'm STILL working on, because I change my mind often haha... You'll notice one side is A LOT LONGER than the other side.

FINISHED
Changed, Rearranged, Altered, Modified, Transformed, Revised, Remodeled, etc. haha
Classroom Layout
(tables, chairs, bookshelves, everything!!)
Student Library
Teacher Library
Labeling Cubbies

Computers
Classroom Posters

Teacher Area
(I don’t have a desk… but I’m giving myself a bookshelf to hold all my “stuff”.)
Welcome Bulletin Board
Math Area and math tools
Beginning of the Year Centers

Word Wall
(Math and Reading)

Calendar Math and all the "doodads"

Student Displayed Work Areas

Closets
(My teacher closet and the “outdoor” closet are both a disaster! Haha)

So there's my list! The crazy thing to thing is I've got all of this.. and I've even yet to think about the actual "teaching" stuff I've got to do. WOW! Anyway, I'm off to finish some cutting and then do some house cleaning. (I've focused so much on the classroom... that I've slacked off on my house. Sad, but true fact for most teachers when they work on their "Classroom Home".)
Ooooh I forgot to mention that I met one of my 2013-2014 Kindergarten Students. :) He was adorable!! Super cute blue eyes and sweet little smile. He came down to the classroom yesterday with his Aunt and a few other Teacher Kids (they were trying to find the playground). He told me his name and informed me I was going to be his New Teacher. :) He then said my name with PERFECT Pronunciation. I'm not sure how many students I'll have this year... but I can rest assured that at least one will help the others learn how to say my name correctly. haha

I had forgotten how draining it was sitting in a classroom and learning all day... PHEW!! It was an interesting week.. I'm glad I went and got to hear/see all the up-incoming things. :) However it was a bit overwhelming, so much in fact... that I didn't go into school as much as I had planned. (Which also means no pictures.)

On that slightly depressing note... Lets flip the page and move onto some exciting things. Today's purchase!! I wanted to make number labels for cubbies and book baggies. I browsed through stores online sites and nothing was quite what I wanted. The items were either too big or too small and... NOT Dr. Seuss like. haha  So I came across the Recollections line of cutting products. WOW! It was like Christmas. :) I fell in love with all the products. But I settled on one item: The Craft Punch Giant Scallop Circle and thanks to my 50% off coupon... the price was amazing!  (I made the name a link to Michaels, just in case you want to buy one too! Or search the other items they carry.   )

I've got all my scalloped circles cut out. Now I'm getting started on the perimeters and writing the numbers in the middle of each shape. Here's a little sneak peek of how cute they are becoming. :) I purchased my paper for the $.25 cent bin. This reminded me of 1 Fish, 2 Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. LOVE IT!!

So today wasn't as successful as I had hoped it would be... I have all the books in the Classroom Library. way TOO many books in fact. I have to decide which books to hide in the closet until after the First Quarter. Because I love all of my books... it's going to be a hard thing to do!

Then I laid down my new Pier 1 rug in the Math area... LOVE IT!! Putting down a rug made the Math area more defined and inviting to the eye. :) Here is a picture of the rug. It's currently on SALE and with my discount... the price was AMAZING!!

Bright Stripe Rugs

Ooh, I put out all of my wonderful Math Tools. I think I'll slowly start bringing home a few buckets of centers. They were given a lot of love last yea and all the Math tools looked and... :(smelled dirty and used. YUCK! (Tomorrow, if I remember, I will take a picture of the area. ;) It is picture worthy!!

Anyway, I'm going to  leave you with a picture of the CUTE welcome labels that are going to be put on my Dr. Seuss treat bags for Meet the Teacher. (Found the idea on Pinterest of course.! haha) Any idea what treat is going to be in the baggie?? You'll have to wait until Meet the Teacher to find out. :)
Enjoy!

I signed up for a Teacher Class at the end of last school year. At the time, it almost seemed a little exciting to go... (Crazy, I know!) but now I'm dreading it!! :( Waking up early, getting dressed in "professional" attire and sitting in class listening to someone lecture.... YUCK! And the worse thing of all is I don't know anyone from my School that has signed up to attend the class this week. So I'll be all alone.  Stinkers! haha

Thankfully the class gets out at 3:00, so I'll be heading in to school each day to start CLEANING and DECORATING!!! Dr. Seuss here I come! I have high hopes for decorating tomorrow. This is my plan: get the classroom library all situated, set up the Math area and unload & set up the student computers.I figure that'll take me the full 2.5 hours I'm allotted. (School closes at 6:00 and they want me out before that time. If I finish the these things I'm setting out to do... I'll post a few pictures. :)

Hmmmm  I'm not sure what areas I should work on, on Tuesday. I'm thnking I should leave myself open.... just in case Monday's work doesn't get done. When it comes to setting up and decorating, I have FIRST CLASS A.D.D. haha I'm sure it affects most teachers, but for me.. WOW! The process is frightening. All my mind wants to do is hang things from the ceiling and make pretty posters. haha

Anyway, I'll update everyone on my progress tomorrow! Bye!!

Hope everyone is doing good. :) I've taken a break from making Centers and have been enjoying my time off doing... NOTHING! However, I did make time to go into School and set up my tables and book shelves. I need to say "THANK YOU!!" to my old Co-Teacher, Alicia, and the best School Custodian ever, Kenneth. Both helped me and had great input into the design of the classroom.  (I have the best Co-Workers hands down!) No pictures were taken though... the classroom is NOT ready for it's debut. haha

Anyway, I received an email today from a colleague at School. She mentioned a contest that Campbell's Soup is doing. EIGHT Schools will win 5 Tablets and a $500.00 iTunes Gift Card to purchase Educational Apps. It would be amazing for my School to win!! But we can't do it without your support. :) Please take the time to visit this link. : http://sweeps.labelsforeducation.com/

****I believe you can vote daily... so vote as much as you can! Oooh and leave a comment letting me know you voted. I want to be able to thank all of you when my School wins. :)  ****
