Reading the Fiction and Non-Fiction books was lots of fun. :) The students enjoy listening to Fiction books... but the best discussions and connections come from the Non-Fiction Literature!! Listening to the kids talk about all the facts is adorable!! (We've got a a smart little bunch of students in our Room!) Our Penguin book told us there are 17 different types of Penguins in the world, however when I visited PenguinWorld.com they only had 16 pictured. Hmmmmm... I wonder what's going on. Here are pictures of the ones listed:

Adelie

African

Chinstrap

Emperor

Erect-crested

Fiordland

Galapagos

Gentoo

Humboldt

King

Little

Macaroni

Magellanic

Rockhopper

Snares

And here is a picture of our Fun Friday Snack... a Penguin Cupcake!! The kids gobbled them up. As they were eating you could hear them say, "I ate his bill. I chewed up his flippers." It was too funny to hear all their excitement. :)

Here's our Penguin Party with a few penguins!!

I tried different slideshows for the following pictures... but none were able to show the students with the whole penguin body. So these pictures are just laid out for you to see. They are adorable!! The penguins are hanging on and around our bulletin board for EVERYONE to see. :)
