שלום מישראל
That says "Hello from Israel" in Hebrew!
We weren't able to use Google Translator, but I was able to "purchase" a lesson for a few Shekel's and we listened/ learned how to discuss meals and food. :) (I was unable to embed the video on the blog, but here is the link to the Youtube Video in case you want to view it. Enjoy!

A few of the facts we discussed about Israel:
Capital: Jerusalem
Continent: Asia
Celebration: Hanukkah. We discussed how the festival of lights lasts eight days. We learned about the Menorah and about the Dreidel game.
Yummy Foods: Latkes, falafel, pita bread and shakshooka.
Time: 7 hours ahead of us  (We left school at 9:20 our time and it was already 4:20 over there!)
Landforms: Valleys, deserts, small mountains in the South, the Jordan River and the Dead Sea!
Clothing: Girls wear pants and very long skirts, they are not allowed to wear shorts. The boys wear khaki pants and buttoned down shirts.

We did not have a flight attendant on this flight (She was absent. haha) But we still had an inflight movie! This is the link to the Power Point we watched: Slideshow for Israel  (Again... a few of the pictures are blurry, I apologize.) We also watched a video from Sesame Street with the characters playing the dreidel game. (Some of the students practiced playing the Dreidel game... however it was more like spin the dreidel and eat the M&M's. haha :) I was helping make our Souvenir and wasn't able to reinforce the rules of the game.) Also, during lunch the class was able to eat a Fig Newton Cookie. :) The kids either loved it or HATED it! haha Their faces were priceless!

Here are the pictures we took with our miniature airplane. :)
