A few of the facts we discussed about the USA:
Capital: Washington D.C.
Continent: North America
Celebration: Kwanzaa. It is a week long celebration of Family, Community and Culture. We learned about the Kinara too.
Yummy Foods: Fried catfish, black eyed peas, collard greens and sweet potato pie
Time: We discussed the different time zones.
Landforms: Rivers, Mountains, Plains, Oceans
Clothing: Lots of red, black and green is worn. During Kwanzaa the women wear a Buba and the Men wear a Kanza.

We were so busy riding around on the Greyhound bus and pedaling on the tricycles (check out the slide show at the end of the post to see us :).) We watched our Power Point and we learned how to say the names of the seven candles on the Kinara. Here is a link to the slide show we saw. :) Plus we watched a Sesame Street video of a family celebrating Kwanzaa together. Enjoy the video and learning about the Seven Principles.

We made our souvenir and some of us ate popcorn, but most wanted to take it home and share it with their families in front of the television. :)

Here are pictures of the students pedaling through the US.  I'm REALLY sorry... but I forgot to take a picture of our souvenir. So you'll have to wait and see it when the suitcase goes home.
